#74 - Ghosts of the Stone Maze
- This is a representation the petroglyths found in the great gallery of Horseshoe Canyon, in Canyonlands National Park in Utah. I saw it only once, decades ago, and recall the tears of joy that came to my eyes. It was an honor to be in the presence of these spirits from sometime in the ancient past.
This is the most frustrating thing I have drawn. I started on it 2016, finished it, and then abandoned it. It just wasn't right. I started again in 2018, got about halfway and abandoned it again. Then in late 2020, I started it yet again, put four months work into it, and then abandoned it for the third time.
I've sat on on it for nearly a year, and now, re-examining it, my opinion has only slightly moderated. It's just not what I was trying to make. However, I've decided to show it anyway.
